About

Pokémon’s first life simulation game, Pokémon Pokopia, will release on Nintendo Switch 2 on March 5, 2026. Playing as a Ditto that has transformed to look like a human, you can collect wood, rocks, and other crafting materials to create a cozy home. Ditto can learn moves from other Pokémon and utilize those moves to help build your very own Pokémon paradise. For example, Ditto can use Bulbasaur’s Leafage to add greenery to the landscape or Squirtle’s Water Gun to hydrate plants. By creating a lush, welcoming environment, more Pokémon will visit.

A cozy life sim makes for an unexpectedly excellent way to ring in 30 years of Pokemon, elegantly capturing what has made the series so enduring.

Pokémon Pokopia captures the essence of past Pokémon games without losing its own unique take on the life simulator genre, creating an excellent spin-off.

Pokémon Pokopia is the freshest Pokémon experience in a long time, bursting at the seams with charm and content that rewards both curiosity and creativity. It's an easy game to get swallowed up in, even with a few gameplay and progression issues that need ironing out.But as a first go at something different for the franchise, it's a big win. I don't know how Pokémon has stayed away from this kind of structure for so long, and I'd easily take a dozen more.
