About

This whimsical game is part open world and part flight simulator – and you play it as a fly! You are provided with a bucket list that you can complete before you die. But the life of a fly is short – and the list is long! Go ahead and learn an instrument, become rich, read a book, go on tour, find yourself, get drunk, make someone laugh or enter the art world! And if you don’t feel like pursuing your life goals, just hang, clean your wings, listen to music or watch television. Make the best of the time you have! Because we are all going to die.

Though I relished in each moment of discovery and lived for the run where I put together my learnings to complete all the goals in one run, Time Flies' lifespan is nearly as short as the titular character's.

The game will probably only last you a couple of hours or so, but that time is filled with lots of fun moments and amusing gags. It's not something that'll stand up to many replays, but it's an entertaining curiosity while it lasts.

Time Flies is a clever puzzle-exploration game and a playful meditation on life's brevity. Its gameplay mechanics don't evolve dramatically from one level to the next, but that never felt like a hindrance. It's a tight, focused experience that delivers its core ideas with confidence but doesn't necessarily push beyond them. That said, Time Flies never feels like a concept stretched too thin, and it bows out before overstaying its welcome.
