This sci-fi hero shooter shows real promise, but lacks both innovation and content at launch.

Authentic Middle Ages problem solving that needs a bit longer in the early access oven.

Here's our verdict on the remaster of 2011's gleefully gory shooter.

This tough physics-based platformer has an intuitive control scheme, but its camera and checkpoints aren't good.

Thimbleweed Park is a time capsule adventure game, buried in 1987 and unearthed in 2017. And a great one at that.

Persona 5 is a massive, gorgeous JRPG with well over 100 hours of gameplay for completionists. With more to do than ever and the series' strongest story to date, it stands out as an extraordinary, memorable experience and easily one of the deepest JRPGs of the last decade. Its sprawling dungeon design and stylish, fully realized world are an absolute joy to explore, and even after three playthroughs and the Platinum trophy, I find myself itching to go back to try different dialogue options with Confidants or revisit particularly fun puzzles. This is a new gold standard for Japanese RPGs and by far the best entry in the series yet.

Beautiful but absurdly cruel, this platformer gives and takes away in not-quite-equal measures.

Terrifying boss fights and a haunting new setting makes for a fitting end to the Dark Souls trilogy.

Interesting game design sets this contender for the CCG crown apart, but is it worth your time?

Mass Effect: Andromeda only occasionally recaptures the series' brilliance, but delivers a vast and fun action-RPG.

The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ adds more of what we loved about the original and keeps the formula fresh. It's a tough game, but one that balances challenge with a refreshing feeling of the unexpected. The unpredictable items and varied enemies make it one of the most wacky and replayable games I've ever experienced.

A serviceable smash ’em up-slash-stunt racer let down by a bit too much repetition.

Discovering the good, the bad, and the blocky in a diverse adventure/creative sandbox hybrid.

This retro reboot is a blaster far too easily mastered.

A challenging stealth adventure with just as much snark as it has sneaking.

Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin is a fun, intuitive VR adventure with a great story.

There are issues with repetition, but its co-op antics make it an entertaining and wide-open military shooter.
